Stemmi araldici di Palazzo Pretorio

È circa dal XII secolo che inizia l'usanza di applicare all'esterno ed all'interno del Palazzo lo stemma del Vicario, così che ancora adesso si conservano duecento stemmi in marmo, maiolica e pietra serena, mentre con i recenti restauri sono stati ritrovati anche alcuni stemmi dipinti.
Alcuni degli stemmi in maiolica provengono dalla bottega dei Della Robbia di Firenze segno di una ricchezza del committente che, non bisogna dimenticare, doveva essere nobile e fiorentino.
Ad oggi è in corso una catalogazione e classificazione degli stessi, di cui potete trovare specifica nel link posto sotto alla galleria foto.
