Palazzo della Vecchia Posta
ll Palazzo della Vecchia Posta è uno dei più antichi esempi di Palazzo presenti a Vicopisano, nato dall'aggregazione di quattro corpi di fabbrica, ancora oggi riconoscibili dalle diverse altezze delle finestre e dei culmini del tetto.
Questo palazzo si data al XII sec., in piena età romanica, la cui impronta è rintracciabile nella tipologia degli archi a tutto sesto e nella massiccia muratura in verrucano.a complessità delle vicende storiche di questo edificio è tutta nella sua facciata, contraddistinta da molteplici finestre, aperture, mensole, tamponature, ecc. che ne sottolineano l'antichità e contribuiscono a rendere ancora più affascinante questo complesso architettonico.
Anche nel prospetto del palazzo della vecchia posta si ritrovano le mensole in pietra che servivano da appoggio agli sporti lignei che un tempo caratterizzavano tutti gli edifici civili di una certa importanza (si ritrovano infatti nel Palazzo Pretorio, nella Torre dell'Orologio ed in svariate case torri).
A rendere ancora più attraente il palazzo, contribuisce la piazza antistante e gli altri edifici privati che vi si affacciano.
Caratteristici sono altresì gli orti a terrazzamento che da quì si estendono fino alla sommità del colle, una caratteristica che è rimasta immutata e che si ritrovava anche nelle città medievali.

To make it even more attractive building, it contributes the square in front and the other private buildings that overlook it. Characteristic are also vegetable gardens on terraces that extend from here to the top of the hill, a feature that has remained unchanged.
