Torre del Soccorso e Camminamento
La Torre del Soccorso fa parte integrante delle fortificazioni progettate dal Brunelleschi, e quindi va sempre osservata nella sua funzione di parte di un complesso e non come torre a se stante. Realizzata a ridosso del porto sul fiume Arno, che qui, prima della sua deviazione del XVI secolo, lambiva le mura del castello, vede la sua funzione principale chiaramente riassunta dal suo nome: era la torre che garantiva il controllo del muraglione di accesso alla Rocca, muraglione concepito dal Brunelleschi come via di accesso privilegiata alla fortezza in caso di ribellione del castello di Vico.
Dalla parte bassa della torre, munita di portello di accesso rivolto verso l'esterno ed in comunicazione con una caletta raggiungibile dall'Arno, si poteva risalire sino circa alla metà della torre e raggiungere il muraglione. Da qui si risaliva sino alla Rocca. Ecco che quindi che la Torre del Soccorso permetteva di rifornire in tutta sicurezza i soldati asserragliati nella Rocca, che anche in caso di ribellione potevano essere sempre soccorsi di viveri e di uomini.
Sulla Torre si innestavano i due tratti delle mura castellane del castello, che nel lato Nord sono ancora conservate per un lungo tratto, mentre del lato Sud sono visibili solamente le tracce di ammorsatura delle stesse.
Il luogo è indubbiamente uno dei punti più caratteristici di Vico, ed in passato costituiva uno dei punti di accesso al castello, in quanto in questa zona si apriva una Porta, distrutta poi alla fine del '700.

On the Tower, the two sections of the castle walls of the castle were grafted, which in the North side are still preserved for a long stretch, while of the South side only the traces of their joining are visible. The place is undoubtedly one of the most characteristic points of Vico, and in the past it was one of the points of access to the castle, as in this area there was a door, which was then destroyed at the end of the 18th century.
